Homework Tonight

Students will have an open book test tomorrow on Freak the Mighty. 

They should look over notes and read their personal novel for 25 minutes.

Students received progress reports that need to be signed. If your child has a low grade or missing grade, they can still turn it in for credit. 

They have a photo release form that also needs a signature.

Students should read every night at home for the 30 Book Challenge. 

Week of September 19th

I am sending home a photo release form that I would like for kids to bring back by Thursday so that we can start Edmodo. 

Please ask your child about a hot pink piece of paper that has information about my website, contact information and Edmodo.

We are still reading Freak the Mighty and students have pages 1-11 in their notebooks completed by tomorrow.  I will be checking notebooks tomorrow.  (see previous post for table of contents for these pages)

This Week

We are reading Freak the Mighty this week and finishing the study guide questions and character analysis.  In their notebook so far, they should have:

I plan on doing a notebook check and 30 Book Challenge reading log check next week.  Please make sure that students are caught up and have their notebook ready.

I will also send home a letter about Edmodo for students to do book talks and ask for suggestions.

Hopefully, I can get their Book Selfies downloaded for others to view and their First Day of 6th grade pictures!

First Week of School

So far we have gone over a lot of procedures, been to the library, discussed their agendas and gone over the "30 Book Challenge."

Please make sure that all Homeroom paperwork is turned in by tomorrow.

Book Selfie:  Please email me your photo cking@bcswan.net or #kingbookselfie on Instagram.  Students that do not have access to the internet can draw a detailed picture of the book's cover.  Other ideas that students can do if they would like is do a screenshot of the book and then email it.  Due Friday.
