The End is Near

Students need to turn in all library books, text books, locks, and pay any debts owed. Report Cards will go home on Wednesday with students who do not owe any money. :)

Please encourage your child to use study island. This is great practice!

Have students look over their EOG packets.

Go on the dpi website and have your child take the sample tests. The answers are provided and you can go over them with your child.

Project

We will be working on a project Thursday. We will need construction paper, glue, magazines with flowers in them, glitter (optional), stickers (optional), yarn, scrap booking materials (optional) and any crafts that the student will need. If you have any old gardening magazines, please send them to school.

Extra Credit

Students may use Study Island for extra credit. They must complete 5 assignments in the EOG Review at home with at least a high B or A. This is not something they will be able to complete during school hours.

EOG Practice Packets

Students will receive a packet of passages and poems that will help prepare them for the EOGs. They will be doing some of these at home and some at school. Please go over these with your child.

Spring Break is HERE!!

A "well needed" break is here!! I hope everyone has a wonderful break. :) When students return we will start our poetry unit and we will continue to work on the grammar program. If you run out of things to do over your vacation......check out School House Grammar Rock! :)

Grammar Program

We have gone over articles and nouns. Students seem to be excited about the program and I feel that their test grades on grammar will improve. We will not do grammar everyday but I will try to do it twice a week and possibly a quiz.

Mythology

We are finishing Greek Mythology this week and they will have their final test on this Monday. Next week, I will spend a couple of days on fables and tall tales. Then, we will start a grammar program.

Missing Work

I am allowing students to turn in any missing work by Tuesday. Please encourage your child to turn work in. Teachers must have grades in next week and report cards will be coming home soon.
