We finished looking at our first "Courageous" Character, Brian.  This week will be looking at Bethany Hamilton, a shark attack survivor.

This week

We have started our new unit on survival.  Students will be looking at a variety of literature that focuses on how acts of courage contribute to one's personal survival or the survival of others. 

This week we are starting "Hatchet."  We are looking at conflict and characterization.  Monday we talked about skills that are needed for survival.

This Week

We are finishing our 11 sentence paragraph today and then we will start reading "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow."  Hopefully, we will be able to watch the cartoon version on Friday.

This week

Students have been working on make up work and turning in any assignments that have not been graded.


I gave everyone a progress report, a letter to parents and a notebook check to complete with parents. Hopefully, this helped with any questions about missing assignments or grades that need to be made up.

We read the Drive-In Movies this week and we are now working on a heirloom paper.  Friday they will write an 11 sentence paragraph and we will also discuss theme.



  

This Weekend

Students can work on an missing work or zeros/low grades.  I need all progress reports, notebook check and reminders back by Monday.

This Week

This week we read "Becky and the Wheels and Brakes Boys."  Students looked at characterization, plot and theme.  I was not able to find the story online but they can use the literature book online and read the story.  I also have paper copies of the story for students that ask for it. 

-They will have a test on the story tomorrow.

 a progress report today that needs to be signed and returned.
-a reminder list that needs to be signed and returned.
-a notebook check paper that needs to completed with a parent and signed and returned.
