Assignments

Unfortunately, because I was out for the couple of days I do not have a lot of grades for the students. Right now students should have a homework grade for Fiction and Nonfiction notes and a project grade. (We have been presenting for a couple of days.) If they did not do their homework or the project, then they are failing my class. Progress reports will be going home next week.
Thanks,
Crystal King

Reader's notebook....make a prediction about what will happen next in your novel. This must go in your notebook. This assignment should be a page long.
example:
Dear Mrs. King,
I am reading TrueSight by Dtahler. So far their is a little girl named Delaney, who belongs to a colony of people who can not see.....................I predict that she will try to run away. I believe that her father who is the leader of the council and colony, will be very upset. They are not allowed to talk about or even think about leaving the colony or what they wished they could see. I am sure she will get into a lot of trouble. Jacob a boy in this story is about to turn 13. He is best friends with Delaney. He loves how carefree and brave she is. He wishes that he could be different like her. My prediction is that he will turn "different" on his 13th birthday. I am very anxious to see what happens next.
Core 4
Finish reading Greyling and while you are reading make two predictions. Make sure to write these predictions down in your agenda.
Friday

Autobiography Project

Autobiography project is due tomorrow!!!
The only homework that students have for me tonight is this project :)
Thanks,
Mrs. King

Reading

Everyone should have a novel to read by the end of the day. Students are required to read 30 novels this school year for my class. I know that it seems like a lot but I am allowing students to chose their own books. We will also have time in class everyday to read. I am looking forward to this reading challenge and sharing novels with the students. I hope this provides a reading community for each child. Hopefully, this will encourage them to become life long readers.
Thanks,
Mrs. King
