This Week

Today we went over the characteristics of Folk Lore and the different types. Students should be able to identify these characteristics in a story.  We will review the elements of a story before students begin group work on folktales tomorrow.  Also, ask your child about the 30 book challenge this year!! Students should be reading every night.

Welcome!!

I have waited until the first few days to post so that students and parents are adjusted for the new school year! The first few days have been wonderful and the students seem really happy.  So far, students have brought home a few forms to be signed and we need to collect all forms by Friday.

The first nine weeks in my class we will be focusing on Folklore.  We will begin in Unit 6 in the literature book. Pages 760-763 describe the types of folk literature and their characteristics.

Friendly Reminder:

School Pictures are September 1st for 6th grade.
