Picnic

My homeroom is in charge of bringing in individual bags of chips.  I think that you can by a large bag containing 22 small bags of chips for $7.  This will be easier to distribute and each child will have their own bag of chips.  Thanks for your donations! The picnic is June 6th.

EOG Prep

Students will be able to take home test ready and other materials to practice for the EOG.  I will post the answers for the orange Test Ready Reading Plus.  The other packet is from the ncdpi website and you can view the answers there. Students may also practice on studyisland.  I would have them practice from each resource.  Testing begins next week! Please continue to help students at home.

Tutoring/ EOG Help

Dear Parents/Guardians,


Ms. Dosher and I are offering Reading Tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:00am for the next two weeks. If you are interested, please let us know. Students will meet in the computer lab and work on EOG Test Prep. We will be able to individually help the students. Students can also work on Study Island at home. In addition, we have extra test prep materials that students can use at home.

Progress Reports and Tutoring

Students will receive progress reports on Wednesday.  They will also receive a letter about tutoring.  Students can come in on Tuesday mornings and Thursday mornings at 8am to receive reading help from Ms. Dosher and myself.  They can meet us in the computer lab.  Students are also allowed to work on Study Island at home. There are sections for math and reading.  If your child does not have their username and password, you can email me at cking@bcswan.net and I will get the information to you.
We will also have tutoring during recess time to prepare students for EOGs.

Folk Literature

We will begin our unit on Folk Literature.  Students will study the characteristics of Myths, Folk Tales, Fables and Legends.

Read Novels

Read pages 760-763 and be prepared to list characteristic traits and types of Folk Literature (Core 2 needs to take cornell notes)


Wednesday
Students need to read their novels and Finish their homework from Tuesday night
