Hi, everyone!! We started the week off with introduction games. I hope you enjoyed getting to know your peers and me. I am sure all teachers have gone over their rules for the classroom. If you have any questions about this please let us know.
We presented the BioCubes today and I enjoyed learning about your life!! I hope you feel more comfortable now that you know everyone!! I will try to have these grades to you by the end of next week.
We have started our nonfiction and fiction unit in my class. We have learned the types of fiction and nonfiction and the elements of both. Do you feel comfortable with fiction and nonfiction?
The first short story that we read this week is "Greyling" by Jane Yolen. A story about a fisherman and his wife who find a selchie and raise him as their child. I was hoping to have a short quiz on this Friday but we ran out of time. Most likely we will go over this story on Tuesday and then have the Quiz. Be familiar with nonfiction vs. fiction and the story "Greyling."
On another note, I am sure some of you have been called "down" for talking or other things. Please do not take this personal. I am just setting boundaries for the classroom. You will soon learn the procedures and expectations of your teachers. In order to have effective classroom management we must let you know from the start what we expect.
